NCAA DIVISION III PICKS FOR 2018

1. CORTLAND

Upstate NY squad returns prolific scorers DEVIN PHELPS (CHITTENANGO) and THOMAS McNANEY (MARCELLUS). The duo combined for over 150 pts in 2017 so, the firepower is there. In goal, not too many are better than JOE SCALISE who is very tough to score on.

2. SALISBURY

Yes, the Gulls lost plenty of their studs from 2017 but, Sr. Mid GARRETT REYNOLDS is unstoppable through the box. He is a force between the lines and will pace the Gulls this season in all categories. SALISBURY never has to rebuild, they just reload!

3. DENISON

The incredible 2017 season was no fluke! The Big Red is loaded again this year. Sensational attackman SPENCER BUTLER (MILLBROOK SCHOOL) returns to the front line and middle JAKE WAXTER (GILMAN, MD) will handle the midfield again in 2018. LSM JOSIAH WILSON (KENT SCHOOL) is a GB machine and an excellent shut down speedster. FOGO HENRY DeCAMP (DEERFIELD) will be a first teamer in 2018. Final 4 team here with a possibility of National Championship written all over it!

4. TUFTS
The Jumbos make it back to the Final 4 in 2018. They lost some close games last year only because they were not as deep as year's past. But, in 2018, they should be on point. They will be led by attackman DANNY MURPHY (HAUPPAUGE). MURPHY is bringing 95 pts with him from 2017. He should build on that total as a goal scoring machine similar to TUFTS great JOHN UPPGREN.

5. RIT

Another school that seems to reload every year. The Tigers always seem to have a Canadian stud on the team. 2018 will be the year of AIDEN MILBURN (BC, CANADA). The offense will run through him. He has incredible mitts and can move the goalie with his slick inside moves. Possible Attackman of the Year candidate who will carry RIT deep into the playoff race again this year.

6. WESLEYAN (CT)

Another surprise school from 2017 is stacked again for 2018! Big HARRY STANTON (NEW CANAAN) brings 115 pts from 2017 with him to the new season. He plays similar to NEW CANAAN HS great ANDY TOWERS. Strong and unstoppable, STANTON is another name to watch for Attackman of the Year 2018

7. GETTYSBURG

The Bullets have a lethal combo on offense with JACK HARVEY (NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ) and TOMMY HELLER (LIVINGSTON, NJ) which makes it impossible to shut down both with even the best defenders. HARVEY is slippery and HELLER has a way of finding room to shoot even when smothered. These guys are fun to watch play off each other. Must be a New Jersey thing! Between the pipes, G' Burg is solid with returning stopper TIM BRADY (PROVIDENCE CHARLOTTE). He reminds one of Bullets great BRIAN SULLIVAN (HOLY CROSS, WATERBURY).

8. AMHERST

Another tough stacked team out of the NESCAC, they have balance. Look for AMHERST legacy midfielder ANDREW FORD (DELBARTON) to quietly stack up points. Not only is FORD a "both ways" middie, he has a knack for GB's. He plays hard and can shoot with both hands off the run.

9. STEVENSON

A very young team but, very gritty. Led by young guns ETHAN CHRISTENSEN and Florida recruit GRAY KING (BOLLES SCHOOL), look for this youthful movement to pick up  some big wins in 2018!

10. YORK

The heavy Pennsylvania laden roster is composed of the best players from western Philadelphia. BRENDAN McGRATH (WARRINGTON) and CAMERON LEECH (ABINGTON) are Philly products that keep it local in recruiting for COACH CHILDS. With a touch of Maryland at midfield THOMAS PFEIFFER (BEL AIR), this will be a very good team in 2018.
